Guess who’s back? It’s me, Lily, with another addition of do’s and don’ts for you to feast your eyes on! Today I want to share a few more things you should consider as you’re planning your branding session.
In our first do’s and don’ts (CLICK HERE TO READ), we talked about the importance of a checklist and choosing where you’ll use your photos. But that’s not where the planning stops. When we schedule your branding shoot, my goal is to make sure you have content that will carry you for a while. That means you’ll need to think at least 6 months ahead for your business!
Planning ahead will help you get the content you need to successfully market and connect with your audience.
Remember that reel trend, If I were a season and color and whatnot? We want to go for that effect, but brand-edition. Every single item, prop, outfit, and color in your photo is going to be noticed. If you are a Christian marriage counselor, you probably won’t want to wear a KISS tee in your branding shoot. If you’re an event coordinator, a pottery wheel is not going to get your point across.
So please leave those random things you think are cute at home. Pointless props are jarring when they don’t match up with your brand. Instead, choose items that you feel are unique to you. Items that describe you. Allow your story to be told through the setup around you.
If you’re like a lot of my clients, like Catherine, who booked 23 clients in her first year full time and wanted to celebrate that…
Or like Alana, who took her coaching business full time and kicked it off with a bang with brand photos as her first investment…
You’ve been growing and changing for a while now. Whether your business is just getting going or you’ve been around the block a few times, a branding photoshoot is a big accomplishment. It’s both a celebration of everything you’ve done and an exciting investment in your future!
If you’re looking for a photographer to partner with, I’d love to toss my name in the running!! If you haven’t already, check out the About Me page on my website to see why I think we’d make magic together 🙂
Until next time,
xoxo LILY <3
